*Disclaimer
The transparency statements on this page are only relevant to Poppy California branded apothecary and clothing items labeled under Poppy California and The Cosmic Poppy. This is not to be used to reference any other brands/makers/artists we carry in our shop.

Apothecary

All of our offerings are made by hand in small batches in California. We are truly small and do not stockpile or produce in mass thus most of our items are made to order. We source organic when possible and our flowers, herbs, and resins are sourced from local farms and member-owner co-operatives. Our white sage is cultivated and not wild-harvested and we no longer offer frankincense, myrrh, and palo santo in our creations. Here is what we will not have in our apothecary offerings

Frankincense

Rosewood

Cedarwood Atlas

Clothing

All of our pieces are made by hand in small batches in California. Our luxe brocade and glitter free fabrics are made to order or are of high quality deadstock

 Textile Mills: France, United Kingdom

Our stretch velvets are cut and shipped out of the USA

Our direct teams are protected under European Union or California labor laws

Our fabrics though high quality are not considered sustainable. Our fabric blends contain synthetic materials such as elastine. You can view a full breakdown of our core fabrics and materials here.

 Our Packaging

eco packaging with products wrapped in kraft tissue

From our perspective, unboxing experiences can last anywhere from seconds to minutes. The potential packaging waste accumulated from these short experiences like coated boxes, embossed cards, poly bags, and foam padding pose a huge risk for how these materials are disposed and break down over time.

We use minimal packaging, trims, labels and tags. Our apothecary labels, tissue paper, and hang tags are made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials. You can get a glimpse of how we pack orders on this TikTok video.

We also participate in carbon-neutral shipping for our fabrics and orders, meaning the carbon we add to the environment by shipping products is offset through regenerating forests and reducing emissions.

Although we consider ourselves a luxe brand we choose to use minimal packaging and trims for our clothing orders. All packaging materials can be composted/recycled including our tags.

Grassroots Organizations We Support

Indigenous Peoples Movement

"A grassroots organization that strives to unite indigenous people around the world to stand together and bring awareness to issues affecting indigenous people."

Drug Policy Alliance

"Our supporters are individuals who believe the war on drugs must end. Together we work to ensure that our nation’s drug policies no longer arrest, incarcerate, disenfranchise, and otherwise harm millions - particularly young people and people of color who are disproportionately affected by the war on drugs."

Erowid Vaults

"Erowid is a member-supported organization providing access to reliable, non-judgmental information about psychoactive plants, chemicals, and related issues. We work with academic, medical, and experimental experts and increase access to already existing resources."

Greenbelt Alliance

"We envision a bay area of healthy, thriving, resilient communities made up of lands and people that are safe during climate disasters and recover quickly from wildfire, floods,  and drought, where everyone is living with nature in new and powerful ways for generations to come."
